When you study a foundation pathway, you are guaranteed University accommodation if you apply in time (31 July 2021). You can apply for accommodation from a wide range of options, which have been carefully selected by the University to suit a variety of needs and budgets. All university accommodation in Birmingham is conveniently located close to campus, so that it’s easy to get to your classes.
When you have accepted your study offer, you can apply for accommodation directly through the University during their application period.
At the University of Birmingham, there are 3 main student villages: The Vale, Pritchatts Park and Selly Oak. At all of these student villages, you’ll be able to apply for the following types of accommodation:
Studio — this is a private bedroom, bathroom and kitchen-diner all in one
En suite — this is a private bedroom and bathroom, with shared kitchen
Shared — this is a private bedroom, with shared bathroom and shared kitchen
You can apply for either catered or self-catered accommodation. If you apply for catered accommodation, then you will be on what’s called a Meal Plan — this means that a weekly budget is added to your ID card, which you can spend all across campus whenever you like. That gives you over 30 different places to eat as well as a 10% discount. You’ll also have access to your shared kitchen so you can still cook when you want to.
Please note that if you are under the age of 18 at the start of your course, then you will be assigned accommodation in the Vale Village.
