You can apply to a bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut, either for Year 1 admission or transfer admission*. Disciplines include:
*International students who have already completed some university credits may be eligible to enter Year 2 or 3 of a bachelor’s degree at UConn. Learn more about the transfer admission process.
You can take a special program alongside any of UConn’s bachelor’s programs on the Storrs main campus. These programs offer a coordinated curriculum that includes 4 years of undergraduate preparation in any of UConn’s bachelor’s degree programs, followed by optional enrollment in one of UConn’s affiliated graduate schools:
You’ll receive one-on-one support to prepare for the challenges of professional school. Opportunities include unique programming events, taking courses with graduate school professors, and mentorship from practicing professionals.
A separate application is required for these highly competitive special programs, but no extra tuition fee is charged.
A junior (third-year) entry program is available to eligible students after 2 years of study at UConn. First-year applicants should choose another major within the same academic college / school or a pre-professional program at the Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES):
ACES is UConn’s advising program for students who must complete specific pre-professional requirements for 2 years before applying to a professional major. Programs in Pre-Social Work, Pre-Sport Management and Pre-Teaching are available.
There is also an “Exploratory – Undecided” program for students who want to explore the University’s options before deciding on a field of study, and a “Pre-Individualized Major” for students who want to design their own interdisciplinary degree.
Conditionally admitted students have the option to join UConn’s American English Language Institute (UCAELI) to improve their English and prepare for academic success at university with study skills courses.
The College Preparatory Experience program is available at the Storrs main campus.
You can study your first 2 years of a UConn bachelor’s degree on any of the University’s 5 campuses, but for most majors you will seamlessly transition at the start of Year 3 to complete your studies at the Storrs main campus. There are some majors that have the option to study all 4 years at a regional campus, or that can only be finished at regional campuses.
