Study in Australia

Australia is an exciting destination for students, with many prestigious universities. Australian institutions enjoy consistently high rankings in the global league tables, and the country has the highest concentration of international students in the world (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).

Rich and diverse culture

Australian culture is unique. It has a number of different influences, including those from British, Aboriginal and other Oceanian groups. Aboriginal culture dates back 30,000 years, and still influences Australian life today. You can watch traditional Aboriginal ceremonial dances at theatres throughout the country.

The Australian people

Australians are incredibly friendly, and are known for being very welcoming. They are also renowned for their sense of humour. Comedy is an important part of Australian life, and Australians don’t like to take themselves too seriously!

Land of sport

Sport plays an important role in Australian culture and national identity. Whether you enjoy watching top-level sports in huge stadiums, or playing with friends in the park, Australia has something for everyone. Football, cricket, rugby, basketball and many other sports are all hugely popular.

Outstanding natural beauty

Australia is home to some amazing natural wonders, and some of the most fascinating wildlife on the planet. With attractions like the breathtaking Lake Hillier and the Great Barrier Reef, the largest coral reef structure in the world, the beauty of Australia makes it one of the world’s most popular travel destinations.

Vibrant cities

Australia’s cities are some of the most exciting, diverse and culturally important in the world. Places like Sydney, Perth and Adelaide are all home to world-famous architecture, cultural and entertainment hotspots, and varied and interesting cuisines. Australian cities are also consistently ranked among the world’s most liveable cities, with Adelaide and Perth ranked in the global top 10 (Economist Intelligence Unit 2016).

Sunshine and sand

Australia boasts some of the most stunning beaches in the world, and they can be enjoyed during the tropical summers and mild winters. Beautiful beaches such as Glenelg in Adelaide and Cottesloe beach in Perth are the perfect places to relax and spend time with friends.  You can even take part in some dolphin watching while you’re there!

I'm so glad I had the chance to live and study in Australia. The culture is so different from India, but everyone was so nice that I felt welcome almost immediately. As well as the people, the food and weather are really lovely. There's so much to do here, I particularly loved being able to hang out at the beach with my friends!
