International Foundation Programme course options

Students have a choice of course options leading to an undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol. The specific course you need will depend on the degree you want to progress to.

International Foundation Programme

You have 3 tailored pathway options to choose from with the International Foundation Programme, all designed to prepare you for your specific subject area.

When you study the International Foundation Programme, you are guaranteed entry to a University of Bristol degree if you pass at the required level with good attendance.

International Foundation Programme Plus

The International Foundation Programme Plus is for students with a higher level of English: if you have an IELTS score of 7.0 (overall), 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in speaking, listening and reading, or accepted equivalent, you will be automatically placed on the International Programme Plus. This programme will give you the opportunity to focus your attention on further developing your academic language and literacy through problem-based learning, using an integrated skills approach.

This course is available in the same 3 subject areas as the International Foundation Programme.

Students who pass the International Foundation Programme but don’t meet the progression requirements for their chosen University of Bristol degree will be supported by the University in finding a place at a UK university.
