The University of Liverpool enjoys a fantastic reputation as a careers-focused university, and it offers you a skills-based learning experience that could put you on the fast track to career success. Now it has reaffirmed its dedication to creating work-ready graduates by introducing a new and improved careers service at the University of Liverpool’s Career Studio!

University of Liverpool’s Career Studio

The University of Liverpool’s Career Studio is a fantastic resource available to all students, and it’s recently been fully refurbished. Here are just some of the helpful services you can now access:

  • Help finding a work placement, work experience or part time job.
  • Advice on choosing the right career for you.
  • Skills masterclasses.
  • Help writing your CV, applying for jobs, and practical interview advice.
  • The opportunity to meet employers and companies face-to-face.
  • All of this is incredibly useful in helping you with your first steps towards a career.

A different approach

The University of Liverpool is an innovative institution, which is why it decided to modernise its services to improve your career prospects. The building was fully refurbished and the equipment replaced with brand-new technology.

Plus, the staffing and organisation of the Career Studio was radically overhauled. Now, the service is fully student-led and student-focused!

Firstly, the University trained 16 students to become Career Coaches, who are qualified to help you fill out applications and advise on interesting upcoming opportunities.

Secondly, they made sure to hire staff that reflect the University’s diverse student community of 145 nationalities, and introduced a new flexible approach to appointments. Because of this new approach, you don’t need to book in advance — you can drop in any time!

Thirdly, the new CareerConnect initiative is a programme of special events and masterclasses where you can meet employers. You can learn vital insider tips, and even build up a useful network of contacts. CareerConnect has already organised 80 events for the coming year, with help from famous organisations like IBM and the Bank of England.
