5 reasons to study at the University of Liverpool

Hello! My name is Shifra, I have just graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Liverpool. I had an incredible time during my three years at university and I want to encourage others to pick Liverpool! So, here are my five top reasons to study at the University of Liverpool.

1. It’s a vibrant and beautiful city

Liverpool is the place to be as an international student! The city was voted the 4th friendliest city in the world by Rough Guide, and it comes as no surprise to me. The people are warm, fun and embrace different cultures.

Speaking of culture, you will learn about many cultures since there are lots of galleries and museums to explore. Also, you’ll be glad to know it’s very cost-effective to live there.

2. There are study abroad opportunities

The University of Liverpool provides opportunities to study in countries like China and Singapore, and you even have the chance to start learning a new language as part of your studies. You’ll also benefit from the global mentoring network while studying and when you graduate.

3. You’ll receive support for the future

The careers and employability services on offer at the University of Liverpool are fantastic, and I’ve found them really helpful when thinking about my future. The University is also known among employers for its great graduates. Consequently, 88% of graduates are in employment or further study within 6 months, which is a very reassuring statistic.

4. You could make new discoveries

At the University of Liverpool, you will be challenged to apply your knowledge to the world outside. The University focuses heavily on research, and 81% of the research carried out is rated world leading and internationally excellent, according to the Research Excellence Framework.

This means you’ll have the opportunity to be part of incredible projects — you could work on personalised medicine and other advance materials for the future. You could even create the next cool invention!

5. It has amazing learning and living support

The University provides you with all the support you may need for essay-writing, mental health, and specific international students’ needs. You will also have a student peer mentor who will help you navigate university life. At the University of Liverpool, you really will be well looked after.

Study at the University of Liverpool

I’m so happy that I chose to study at the University of Liverpool, and I hope I’ve inspired you to study there too. It’s a wonderful place and I will miss it now that I have graduated!

If you’re an international student then you can study a pathway course at the University of Liverpool International College, like I did. It’s a great way to improve your English and academic knowledge before you progress to the University of Liverpool.
