- If you’ve finished high school but don’t meet the entry requirements for your preferred university, a Foundation Certificate can help you gain entry to the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Digital International Year One
Take an International Year One (IYO) course to progress straight to the second year of a bachelor’s degree.
- If you’ve finished high school but don’t meet the entry requirements for university, an International Year One, or IYO for short, can help you gain entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree.
- Studying an IYO gives you the chance to combine academic preparation with the first year of an undergraduate degree. You can improve your English language level, academic skills and subject knowledge.

Digital Pre-Sessional English
Take a Pre-Sessional English course to raise your English language skills to the level required for degree study.
- A Pre-Sessional English course can help you enhance your English language and study skills for entry to a degree preparation course, a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree.
- If you have an offer to study at university that is conditional on English language, a Pre-Sessional English (PSE) course may be most suitable for you. You can also take a PSE course even if your study offer is unconditional.

With the Digital Pre-Sessional Course, you can progress to one of many different accepting universities, including Digital Pathways partners, the University of Essex and the University of Westminster.
Some Kaplan Testing Services university partners also accept this qualification, including:

Digital Pre-Pathway course
Take a Pre-Pathway course to prepare for a UK foundation programme.
- A Pre-Pathway course allows you to refresh your skills in core areas like Maths and Science, and learn more about the UK education system ahead of starting a foundation programme.
- The Pre-Pathway course is suitable for you if you hold an offer to study a Kaplan Foundation Certificate for Business, Law and Social Sciences or Science and Engineering, or an equivalent programme elsewhere.

Study an online internship
If you choose to study a Foundation Certificate, International Year One or Pre-Master’s course, you can gain valuable work experience by adding an integrated online internship to your course. Simply select the internship option of your preferred course when you apply.
Additional costs
As well as your pathway course tuition fees, other costs to consider are:
Administration fee — £260
You’ll be charged a £260 administration fee to cover administration costs related to your application. This is payable at the same time as your tuition deposit if you accept an offer to study a digital pathway course.
Learning materials — from £200–£400
The cost of the course learning materials varies depending on your degree preparation course length. The exact amount will be confirmed in the invoice that accompanies your offer letter.
