It’s our birthday! Kaplan Pathways is turning 20 — that means 20 years of helping students from all over the world to achieve their dreams.
In this blog, we’re looking back on some highlights of what we’ve achieved.
Our story
In September 2005, we opened our first ever pathway college in Nottingham, offering international students progression to Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
Now, 20 years later, our partnership with Nottingham Trent is still going strong but we’ve also grown a lot. We now have university partners all over the world, including:
- 16 in the UK
- 5 in the USA
- 3 in Australia
- 2 in Canada
- 1 in New Zealand.
That means with Kaplan, international students like you now have the life-changing opportunity to study abroad in five exciting countries!
How we’ve helped

Samuel’s story
Of course, you don’t need to take our word for it — just look at what our students have achieved, and what you could achieve too.
Samuel from Ghana was part of the first ever cohort of students at Nottingham Trent International College, before going on to study a postgraduate degree at Nottingham Trent University. Now, 20 years later, Samuel is still at the University — but instead of a student he’s now a lecturer!
How we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary
We’re so proud of everything our students have achieved. But that wouldn’t be possible without all the hard work of Kaplan’s staff too. That’s why, all over the world, our staff have been celebrating too!
What’s coming next
We’re always creating new and exciting opportunities for students. This year, we’ve already launched new International Year One (IYO) courses leading to prestigious Russell Group universities, and there are more coming very soon!
