Terms and Conditions for Kaplan Canada Future Leaders Challenge 2026

In 2026, Kaplan International Pathways (Kaplan, we, us, our) will be awarding partial scholarships to two (2) students as part of the Kaplan Canada Future Leaders Challenge (KCFL Challenge). KCFL Challenge successful applicants will be awarded $10,000CAD each, which will be applied as a discount to final term tuition fees. The terms and conditions included here detail the eligibility criteria and other important details about our KCFL Challenge. If you are an eligible student and wish to participate in the challenge for one of the awards, please read the following:  

  1. Eligible Student criteria 

To be eligible to participate in the challenge, you must: 

  1. Apply and intend to study at a Kaplan Canadian University (either University of Victoria or University of Alberta*) in the Fall (September) intake of 2026 (Qualifying Period); 
  2. Have an overall GPA of at least B+    
  3. Not hold Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residence. 

*University of Alberta Year One Program which is in partnership with Kaplan International Pathways, not University of Alberta direct.  

  1. Submission of applications 

If you are an Eligible Student and wish to apply for one of the KCFL Challenge scholarships, you must:  

  1. submit your Challenge response via the link provided by March 2nd,2026
  2. The format will be a two (2) minute video that answers the question, “What global challenge do you believe will most define your generation, and how could studying in Canada—at the University of Victoria or University of Alberta—help you play a meaningful role in addressing it?”  
  3. Also submit a Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or organization(s) where you have volunteered as part of your application. 

IMPORTANT: Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.  

  1. Review of submissions and notification of outcome 
  1. Submissions open on January 13th ,2026 .  
  2. Kaplan will use all reasonable efforts to notify KCFL Challenge participants of the outcome of their application by email or phone within three weeks of the submission deadline.  
  3. If you are informed that your submission for the scholarship has been successful, you must:  
    1. accept your scholarship by the deadline stated in your application outcome email; and  
    2. pay your tuition deposit (to the Kaplan Canada University you have an offer for) by the deadline stated in your application outcome email.  

If you do not meet these criteria, your KCFL Challenge scholarship will be withdrawn.  

  1. The KCFL Challenge scholarships are awarded at the discretion of Kaplan, the University of Victoria and the University of Alberta and the decision regarding which applicants receive the scholarships is final and binding.  
  1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE 
  1. The scholarships cannot be transferred to another person.  
  2. if you are awarded a KCFL Challenge scholarship and later decide to defer your offer to a later intake outside of the Qualifying Period, your scholarship will be withdrawn. The scholarships cannot be deferred. 
  3. Unless otherwise specified in your application outcome email, if you are awarded a KCFL Challenge scholarship, the scholarship amount that you are awarded will be applied as a one-off discount to your final term tuition fee. No cash alternative or other substitution will be issued.  
  4. If you accept a KCFL Challenge scholarship, you will be contacted by us to provide a testimonial regarding your scholarship and to ask if you would be interested in becoming a “Student Content Creator” for KCFL Challenge scholarships. This may involve you being featured in Kaplan’s promotional materials and/or that of our university partners. You do not have to participate in this if you do not wish to.  
  1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO NOTE 
  1. By submitting an application for one of our KCFL Challenge scholarships, you certify that:  
    1. the essay or video that you submit as part of your application is your own work, is not plagiarized and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party;  
    2. the information that you submit as part of your application is accurate, complete and up-to-date.  

If you are awarded a KCFL Challenge scholarship and it is later discovered that as part of your application, you submitted plagiarized (or otherwise infringing) work, or false or incomplete information, your KCFL Challenge scholarship will be withdrawn.  

  1. Kaplan is not responsible for any application that cannot be successfully submitted due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, or satellite, network or server failure of any kind. Please send an email to rufaro.munetsi@kaplan.com  if you are facing technical challenges with uploading your video submission
