PIEoneer Awards success for Kaplan Open Learning!

22 Sep 2017 - Barni Homden

After an exciting evening with representatives from the entire international education sector, we're thrilled to announce Kaplan Open Learning's success at the PIEoneer Awards 2017!

Kaplan Open Learning and the University of Essex were jointly shortlisted for Public/Private Partnership of the Year at the inaugural PIEoneer Awards ceremony.

These prestigious awards honour achievement and innovation in the international education industry, and are judged by a diverse and distinguished panel.

It was a nervous wait for the nominees on the night, and it shows the hard work of both Kaplan Open Learning and the University of Essex that their partnership won the award.

The judges recognised the amazing achievement, and noted that:

“Kaplan Open Learning’s partnership with the University of Essex exemplified how the private and public sector can work together in exceptional ways to enhance institutional reputations, deliver academic excellence and positive financial results for both parties. It demonstrates the value of long-term commitment and strategic alignment to provide an online delivery model that increases education access to learners around the world.”

The awards were held at the home of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London, and 250 guests travelled from across the world to attend the dinner and award ceremony. Once the presentations and speeches were finished, attendees moved across to London's famous 'Gherkin’ building to celebrate.
