New International Year One: study Politics at the University of Essex

If you’re interested in studying politics, then our newest course offering might be the perfect path for you. You can now study an International Year One (IYO) in Politics and International Relations, and progress to a related undergraduate degree at the University of Essex: one of the UK’s premier universities for Politics.

IYO in Politics and International Relations

This new International Year One is a fantastic opportunity for you to fast track your progression: once you’ve successfully completed your IYO, you’ll progress directly to the 2nd year of a degree at the University of Essex. The IYO covers the equivalent of the 1st year of your degree alongside university preparation, helping you to get ahead.

You’ll study the International Year One at the University of Essex International College. This dedicated pathway option is the first IYO we’ve offered specifically in Politics, and features a specialised curriculum developed in conjunction with the University. Throughout your studies, you’ll benefit from expert teaching, superb student support, and access to the University’s exceptional resources.

Once you pass your course at the required level, with good attendance, you’re guaranteed entry onto your progression degree at the University of Essex.

The first intake for the new IYO will be September 2020. This means that you’ll be able to start your course this year, and begin the 2nd year of your undergraduate degree in October 2021.
