Celebrating 10 years of KIC London

05 Feb 2019 - Victoria S Williams

Kaplan International College (KIC) London is celebrating a huge milestone — it recently turned 10 years old! To mark the occasion, we have completely refurbished Palace House, the College building, investing in some exciting new facilities!

Brand new facilities

Previously, KIC London occupied only part of Palace House, it has now taken over the whole building, creating a lot of space for lots of new amenities for students. These include the fantastic College Services Hub, where the friendly team will help you with any questions or problems you might have.

KIC London students can now also enjoy flexible social and learning spaces throughout the building. With plenty of comfortable seating, as well as high-speed Wifi, you can use these areas for meeting your tutors, working on projects with your classmates, or simply relaxing with your friends.

Finally, the classrooms have been totally redesigned to enhance your student experience. You can now work in a much more interactive setting, which encourages teamwork, and helps you better understand the material. Most degrees will involve a lot of small-group work, so this is great preparation for university!

The future

Join us on your path to university!

Kaplan’s flagship college first opened its doors to international students in Autumn 2008, and it moved to its current location at London Bridge in 2014.

The number of pathway courses offered at the College has also doubled over the last decade from 3 to 6, and the number of universities its students can progress to has more than tripled! Every year KIC London gets bigger and better — so what keeps the students coming?

The ideal location

First of all, there’s the great location. Kaplan International College London is in the heart of the city, close to London Bridge. It’s surrounded by history: on one side of the College you’ll find the famous River Thames; to the other lies the ruins of Winchester Palace, an important 12th-century building, which still has its beautiful rose window!

Plus, right in front of the College is the Golden Hinde, a replica of the wooden ship in which British explorer Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the globe between 1577 and 1580.

You’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to food, as the College is only a few minutes from Borough Market, a famous food market that is more than 1,000 years old! Here, you can enjoy freshly made hot and cold food from all over the world. As if that weren’t enough, you’ll find  a selection of coffee shops, cafés and pubs all within walking distance of the College.

Exciting education possibilities

When KIC London opened, students could progress to 2 partner universities. Now, you could progress to a degree at one of these 7 great institutions.
