1. You can enjoy its famous beach

Firstly, Brighton is home to one of England’s most famous and popular beaches. You’ll find lots of art stalls, cafés and traditional tearooms along the seafront, and you can enjoy walks up the iconic Brighton Pier with its arcade and funfair. For a more active beach experience, you can make the most of Yellowave, which is the UK’s first beach sports centre of its kind, and hosts daily games of volleyball, football and rugby.

If you love arts and culture, Brighton is a truly great place to be. England’s largest arts festival, the Brighton Fringe, takes place in the town every year, making it a centre for creativity and culture.

There are also lots of art galleries, such as the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, as well as around 500 bands playing every night of the week! Public art is an important part of Brighton’s identity too, so you’ll even see sculptures, street furniture and murals as you walk around.

Brighton is well known for its focus on sustainable, ethical food that's sourced from the surrounding areas. There are many restaurants (including lots of vegetarian and vegan eateries!) that showcase Brighton’s amazing local food. So, you can eat delicious food and support independent businesses at the same time! It’s not all English food, though. You can find restaurants serving cuisine from across the world. You might find a traditional dish from your home country, or discover a new favourite!

4. There are lots of fun activities on offer

Another reason why you should study in Brighton is that there's lots to do! The coast around Brighton is beautiful, and there are lots of places to explore by foot, bike or boat. The British Airways i360 is the world’s tallest moving observation tower (138 metres above ground) and offers amazing views over the town.

Or, if you’re really adventurous, you can try the Brighton Zip flying experience, where you’ll speed through the air above Brighton Beach! If you’d prefer to keep your feet on the ground, then you can visit the town’s many attractions, including the world’s oldest aquarium.

5. You can relax in its wonderful green spaces

Brighton boasts 100s of parks and gardens, so there are loads of places to sit and relax. The largest park is Preston Park, and the South Downs National Park is also just a 15-minute drive away and offers a wonderful spot to enjoy the countryside. You could even enjoy a day-trip to the world-famous white cliffs of Seven Sisters Country Park, which is about 1 hour away by bus or train.

6. Its location is really convenient

Finally, Brighton has a very convenient location. Situated on England’s south coast, Brighton has a great location just 50 minutes away from London by train, so it’s easy to explore the UK’s capital. And Gatwick Airport is even closer – just 30 minutes by train! So, when you’re not studying, you’ll be able to visit lots of different destinations in Europe and beyond.
